Out of the Darkness

I walked again in the Out of the Darkness walk which attempts to raise awareness for suicide prevention. I am amazed at how many people come, more and more every year. It is a healing walk, but sometimes, that I am walking alone, there is a certain feeling of isolation, a time for reflection, when I think about all the things that my father missed. As I watch my daughter walk beside me, I realize didn't see what incredible adults his grandchildren turned out to be. As I take the hand of a friend, who came to walk with me just because, I wonder if he ever had friends like me...and I am so blessed with them, that I always have someone to turn to in my dark moments, the daily hugs... I miss his music, I miss the way he laughed. I miss the way he used to smell like drywall and Brut. I miss him terribly....
